Die historischen Formel-1-Fahrzeuge der Masters Racing Legends geh\u00f6ren an diesem Wochenende zweifellos zu den Stars auf der Strecke. Mit den Monoposti der Cosworth-\u00c4ra verbinden viele Zuschauer Erinnerungen und Emotionen \u2013 und auch die Piloten haben zu diesen Fahrzeugen eine besondere Beziehung. Zu den deutschen Vertretern im Feld geh\u00f6rt diesmal auch der dreifache Le-Mans-Sieger Marco Werner, der im Lotus 87B von 1981 im Qualifying auch die Pole vor dem Briten Steve Hartley im McLaren MP4\/1 von 1982 holen konnte. Der geb\u00fcrtige Dortmunder ist beim Blick auf das Starterfeld sehr respektvoll: \u201eDiese Autos sind schon toll\u201c, nickt er anerkennend. \u201eDa muss man immer wieder sagen: Kompliment an die Fahrer, die in dieser Serie antreten. Ich selbst war ja lange im Profisport unterwegs und habe immer noch meine Freude daran. Aber jemand wie Steve Hartley ist ja zun\u00e4chst einmal Privatmann. Er hat ein Top-Auto, aber das Potenzial muss man erstmal nutzen k\u00f6nnen. Da ziehe ich den Hut, was diese Leute da hinbekommen. Das ist ein sch\u00f6ner Sport.\u201c<\/p>\n

Das zeigte sich auch im ersten Rennen des Wochenendes am Samstag, als Werner die Pole zwar beim Start nutzte und in F\u00fchrung ging, diese aber schnell wieder verlor. \u201eIn der Goodyear-Kehre begannen Aussetzer, sodass Hartley vorbeigehen konnte. Die Aussetzer wiederholten sich noch zwei oder drei Mal, dazu kamen dann fr\u00fch Vibrationen hinten links und am Ende fiel das Bremspedal durch: ich konnte das Auto schlie\u00dflich nur noch nach Hause tragen und wurde bis auf Platz vier nach hinten durchgereicht. Klar, ich h\u00e4tte auch in die Box fahren k\u00f6nnen \u2013 aber eigentlich war alles sicher. Nur war es eben nicht mehr m\u00f6glich, auf Pace zu gehen.\u201c Dennoch macht der Gaststart im Feld der legend\u00e4ren Formel-1-Fahrzeuge dem Rennprofi sichtlich Spa\u00df. \u201eVermutlich sind wir gar nicht viel langsamer als die Fahrer seinerzeit. Uns kommt heute nat\u00fcrlich zugute, dass die Strecke heute ganz anders ist als sie in den 70ern und 80er waren. Da standen ja noch, bildlich gesprochen, rechts und links von der Piste die B\u00e4ume. Heute sind hier \u00fcberall ganz andere Sicherheitszonen, sodass man etwas mehr riskieren kann.\u201c<\/p>\n

Der Wahl-Schweizer kann an diesem Wochenende insgesamt nicht \u00fcber mangelnde Besch\u00e4ftigung klagen, denn Werner f\u00e4hrt auch im Feld der Masters Endurance Legends mit, wo sich die j\u00fcngsten Klassiker des Wochenendes treffen. Hier holte er im Lola LMP2 B12\/80 beim ersten Rennen am Samstagvormittag den Sieg vor dem Ligier LMP2 von Stuart Wilshire. \u201eDer LMP2 ist ebenso wie das Formel-1-Auto aus der \u2019black and gold\u2019-Collection von Chorme Cars. Es war ein feines Rennen und ein spannender Kampf, ich denke, dass wir den Zuschauern etwas bieten konnten.\u201c Werner, der inzwischen im motorsportlichen \u201eUnruhestand\u201c ist, erinnert das Fahrzeug an seine aktive Zeit: \u201eEr wurde knapp nach meinen letzten Profirennen gebaut \u2013 2012. Das ist also ein recht aktuelles Auto, das nat\u00fcrlich Riesenspa\u00df macht und eine Reise zur\u00fcck in meine eigene Sportwagenvergangenheit mit Audi ist.\u201c Die Frage liegt nahe: Wie f\u00e4llt der Vergleich zwischen dem Cosworth-befeuerten Monoposto und dem weitaus moderneren Sportwagen-Boliden aus? \u201eEr hinkt nat\u00fcrlich einerseits\u201c, antwortet Werner da. \u201eAndererseits bewegen sich die Rundenzeiten beider Serien in einem \u00e4hnlichen Bereich. Interessanterweise ist das Gef\u00fchl im Cockpit ganz anders. Im LMP-Auto geht es so fix um die Ecken, dass man irgendwann glaubt, Probleme mit den Halsmuskeln zu bekommen. Die Formel-1-Autos machen die Zeit auf der Geraden und \u00fcber das geringe Gewicht. Es sind ganz unterschiedliche Konzepte auf die man sich einstellen muss.\u201c<\/p>\n<\/div>
