Das gilt allerdings nicht f\u00fcr einen Sportler, der am N\u00fcrburgring vor 60 Jahren sein Renndeb\u00fct gab: Der Ford GT40 stand hier in der Eifel beim 1000km-Rennen am 31. Mai 1964 erstmals am Start \u2013 allerdings sah er die Zielflagge nicht: Auf Platz zwei im Qualifying folgte der Ausfall nach 15 Runden. Der kleine R\u00fcckschlag war aber nur der holprige Auftakt f\u00fcr eine gro\u00dfe Rennkarriere. Der Ami-Renner schrieb eine echte Erfolgsstory, deren Kr\u00f6nung die vier Siege bei den 24 Stunden von Le Mans ab 1966 waren. Und auch heute geh\u00f6rt der schicke Renner zu den Erfolgsgaranten \u2013 etwa f\u00fcr die Piloten, die ihn an diesem Wochenende in der HC \u201965 einsetzen.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Das Auto war gewisserma\u00dfen Henry\u2019s Rache \u2013 denn Henry Ford II hatte in den 60ern mit Enzo Ferrari \u00fcber eine \u00dcbernahme der Scuderia durch die US-Marke verhandelt. Letztlich blieb dies erfolglos und Ford beschloss, einen eigenen Rennstall aufzubauen. Das klare Ziel: Ferrari in Le Mans bezwingen! Von der Performance des GT40, der als Resultat dieser Initiative entstand, d\u00fcrfen sich die Besucher am N\u00fcrburgring an diesem Wochenende ein eigenes Bild machen. Zwei der schicken Rennwagen werden von Lemb Motorsport in der HC \u201965 eingesetzt, einen weiteren bringt HYRacing SRL an den Start. Im diesem internationalen Team greifen der Franzose Pineau Brice und Olivier Muytjens aus Belgien ins Steuer.<\/p>\n<p>Muytjens kann ins Schw\u00e4rmen geraten, wenn er vom Ford GT40 redet. Gerade auch, weil das Team auch andere Fahrzeuge einsetzt, hat er den direkten Vergleich. \u201eDer Ford GT40 macht einfach Spa\u00df\u201c, grinst er. \u201eEr geh\u00f6rte zu den ersten Mittelmotorautos und ist ein richtiger Sportwagen mit Vollverkleidung.\u201c Der Belgier schildert, dass die Ingenieure in der neu aufgebauten Ford-Rennabteilung ihrer Zeit voraus waren: F\u00fcr Mitte der 60er war das Konzept revolution\u00e4r. Federn, Kunststoff-Chassis, Mittelmotor \u2013 alles war auf der H\u00f6he der Zeit und perfekt zu fahren. Das Chassis ist eine Silhouette, die \u00fcber den K\u00e4fig gesetzt wird.\u201c Das Resultat war ein echter Siegertyp. Die Erfolge in Le Mans sprechen eine deutliche Sprache. \u201eDer GT40 f\u00e4hrt sich ganz fein \u2013 sehr vergleichbar mit moderneren Autos\u201c, so Muytjens, der nach dem Qualifying der HC \u201965 auch optimistisch f\u00fcr das Rennwochenende beim BELMOT Oldtimer-Grand-Prix ist: \u201eUnser GT40 l\u00e4uft sehr gut, wir sind sehr zufrieden. Ich denke, die Aussichten f\u00fcr das Rennen sind gut. Mit diesem Auto f\u00e4hrt man in der HC &#8217;65 vorne mit, er ist eines der besten Autos im Feld.\u201c<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-full wp-image-31662\"
